Need to replace a CV boot 01 500HO

Front or Rear Axle?
The rear is not to bad. Front is another story. Buy a shop manual, follow all of the directions very closely. I recommend 4 jack stands, parts washer, 1 can WD40, a torque wrench, and about 2 hours if its your first time. They make replacement kits that include the snap rings. A special snap ring pliers for auto CV joints comes in very very handy. You will discover that in the process.

I've found the Polaris ATV Tech Center parts manuals to be very helpful. At least I can see what parts go where! (usally an after the fact question...lol)
Polaris Parts Manuals
These are free, downloadable and printable - unlike the guy selling them on Ebay.
