Removing Decals
#1
Just bought a new Scrambler 2x4 about a month ago. I need to get all of the warning stickers off. My quad is a moving safety lesson. I don't know where but I've seen a product that you can use to remove stickers, I think it is called sticker off. I was wondering if anybody has used this product or if they know where I can get it. Maybe someone has another great idea. I tried the pressure washer bit I heard on this forum. No luck these things are on good.

Well this is how I did it on my Foreman. I went upstairs and got my wifes blow dryer and held it over the sticker for about 30 seconds and it peeled of with no leftover residue. Problem is on new Hondas that most of the stickers have rivets on the corners which makes removal unadvisable. Good luck.

The first time I pressure washed the Xplorer, half the waring stickers came off. The rest came off with a hair dryer then cleaned up with mineral spirits. Be careful with any "sticker remover" as it might damage the plastic.

You may be able to use Citrusolve (orange stuff in a little spray bottle). I found it in the cleaning section at the grocery store. I know it works decent on removing window tint. But, thats glass, if you try it you should put it somewhere to test the effect on plastic. I never used it on plastic and I wouldn't want your plastic to go into meltdown. Better advice would be to call your local racing graphics shop and ask them what to use. They should have something you could drop by and buy. If you find something, post it, I don't care for the decals either. When I get my new quad, that's the first thing I'm doing to it

Umm, uh,
One suggestion of what not to do...
Don't bother trying to heat the sticker with a small butane torch. NOT that "I" tried it or anything, but maybe the heat would be too intense even if you tried to keep it moving, and maybe the plastic would end up melting a little.
ahem, cough, stutter, that is all...

OK, I didn't ask the question, I used a hairdryer. Now that I have them off, I got some black vinyl adhesive sticker stuff from a sticker store. I cut out my own designs, and careful not to touch the sticky side put them on, I cleaned the quad with alcohal first. Now 2 weeks later they'er pealing off. So my question is "how do you get stickers to stay?"

Bruce, I had the same thing happen on my Banshee. My local sign shop made some new lettering and it tries to come off everytime it gets wet. They tell me that the vinyl does not stick well on some of the glossy smooth plastic.
Does anyone know someone who makes high quality vinyl that sticks?

Use vinyl decals made by 3M they are what most of the manufactures use. They are vinyl but you apply them with soapy water and squeege out the air, once on they are as good as factory. I don't know the actual part # of the vinyl.
