I would greatly love to hear other's opinions or comments about HPD's customer service (or lack of). I have had several disturbing incidents involving HPD over the last couple of years. The last few have taken place over the last few months. I ALMOST STRICTLY USE HPD PRODUCTS ON MY QUADS. They are far superior in my opinion. The tech line help from 3-5pm (Mike) is excellent. It is only the other part of the business that has given me trouble. The lady in the office (Sue) is as helpful as can be. Things like shipping and backorder items are a couple of things. Be careful if you buy a big bore piston. The clearances are NOT marked on the box and they are not the same as a regular forged piston. That little bit of left out info left me $150.00 out on another one. I am just curious if it is just my bad luck with a few things, or has anyone else ran into these things? It might be because we do all of our own work and rely on them stricly for the parts. Just wandering. Thanks for the input, and remember, I am not badmouthing them, just telling my story. Bubba

Over the past two years I have bought a lot from HPD when modding my Scrambler. Sue, Mike and Darrel were always available for help and suggestions. Very knowledgeable. Shipping was always prompt too. 95% has been nothing but great service. Unfortunately when I bumped it up to trail porting and the 39mm carb I was one of the very few who never could get the midrange jetted right. I had the quad shipped down to the states for work directly at HPD but upon return it just kept running very hot and no matter what HPD or I did, it just kept running hot... so after geting my page of fame in a Canadian ATV magazine I decided to sell all the mods and give the Raptor a little more saddle time. Just too scared she would melt again.

Despite the frustrating midrange jetting problems, I was always pleased with their products and service. Just the trail pipe gave my buddy's Banshee a run for his money!

There are some hiccups, been there too. I know lately the 500 silencers were on back-order for a long time. When I was out there a last week, another 40-50 of them were being loaded on the UPS truck. Sometimes the little shop gets sooooo busy, I think they might miss a detail, sure hurts when it's ching from the pocket to cover it.

Ken, After waiting on HPD for 6 weeks, I decided to go on with my life and order a pipe from CPI. It is an extremely well made pipe with an awesome sound and fit. Nice smooth bends with the meat of the expansion chamber behind the front strut. CPI claims over 70hp with their pipe as well. I will have the clutching installed this evening and let you know the performance level.By the way, the trail pipe setup worked real good at the track. 5.50's at 61mph on asphalt 300ft.(our local dragstrip let us run) We have a big bracket race this sunday on 1/8th mile. Hope it does well. KEN: WOULD YOU SEND ME A PERSONAL E-MAIL? ramseydb@***-internet.com. Thanks,Bubba
