HIper carbon fiber wheels.
#1
Has any one out there, besides me, taken the "next step" and purchased the new HIper carbon fiber wheels. If you haven't, there are a few things you should know. First off, they only make them in 10" size for Polaris machines. I was kind of hoping to get 9" rears, but because of the 4x4" bolt pattern on the rear hubs, they can only make them in 10" sizes.
Second, I don't know if this is an indication of all beadlocks, but the tires went on them very smoothly. Only a VERY minimum amount of "magic four letter words" were required to get the tires on the rims.
Third, make darn sure you know the difference between foot pounds and inch pounds on a torque wrench. Tighten the beadlocks to 120 inch pounds (10 ft. lbs.) only.
Fourth, The studs on the front spindle are a little too short for the nut to get the full grip on the stud. I was wondering if anyone out there changed the front studs to longer studs?

Barely Legal,
Oh crap, I knew I forgot to do something. They are lighter than the .190 ITP rims and used Holeshots I had on the Sport (now on the Trailblazer). I'm comparing the Hiper 10" dual beadlock wheels with new Holeshot XCT tires with ITP .190 wheels with used Holeshot XCT tires. You can feel the difference, so I'd say around 1-2 lbs lighter than the ITP wheels. Granted, this isn't a fair comparison, I should be comparing beadlocks with beadlocks, but since I don't have a set of aluminum beadlocks for comparison, that will have to wait.

Mike, you can use sportsman 500 rear lug bolts on the front, I will send you a picture of how much thread sticks out.
also for anybody wanting to go with the more popular rim sizes, you can changes rear hubs to match pretty much what ever pattern you want, the most popular being the honda.
after the hub change any wheel that will fit a honda will fit the polaris on the back.
