i have a 94 2 stroke sportsman 400 that i just got a complete motor job done on. i have a duall 2inch snorkel on the air intake. i am using amsoil 80:1 have a stock pipe with the baffels drilled out, v-force reeds with reed spacer. i am using a 200 main jet, 30 piolt jet, needle clip in the middle, air screw is 2 turns out. when i went on the marongo swamp ride i had a full tank and was out of gas at the 5 mile mark. i moved the needle to the top got 2.5 gall and made it to the 12 mile marker. i sent that carb back to rick ritter. i got the new one in yesterday. rode it about 6miles and the gas level is about 3 inch from the bottom of the tank. i checked my plug and it is wet. what can i do. thanks p.s. the motor has no port work and the head is stock. it runs great with no hesitation anywhere.

Are you running with the drain open on the carb bowl ???????? I know that sounds dumb, but six miles on a tank? and I think the polaris tank on that model is about 4 gal. To run that rich, you would be spewing raw gas out the tail pipe,is there any smell of gas while you run? Maybe try letting it run while you walk around looking for leaks, I find it very hard to believe engine work or a bad carb could cause that much fuel use, unless the carb leaks like a sieve. I would lean toward a leak, possibly in the fuel line or tank, you did say it ran great,so I doubt the fuel is running through the engine. Sounds dangerous, you may want to stop riding until you find out where all that gas is going !!!

O.K. SPOKE WITH RICK. I NEED TO TAKE OFF SNORKEL ON AIR INTAKE. THIS SHOLD FIX THE PROBLEM. IT WAS ABOUT 3 OR 4 FOOT LONG. SO I AM GOING TO TRY THAT.
