Riding today the choke all of the sudden got hung up and the Sportsman ran like crap, coughing sputtering and back firing. The choke was fully pushed in and this is the second time this has happened on the trail. After 10 minutes of poking pushing and cussing it finally cleared up. Got it back home and the shop manual says to adjust the adjuster screw on the cable but I can't find the adjuster in the choke cable, are they talking about the adjuster on the throttle cable. Truely perplexed..

Hey, My 01 TrailBoss did similar to what you are talking about. The choke used to pull out a pretty good ways, but now it only pulls say 1/2". It backfires occasionally. How do I fix it. No adjustment screw inline like the throttle cable. I even tried spraying lots of WD-40 in the cable, but its hard as hell to get much in there.
Help Please.......
