I brought my SP 500 in to the shop for overheating, and ended up with paying for 2 new front drive shafts. Service said they were bent, and there were grooves in the CV joint. Pulled the boot off, found out that it had never been removed to see any "grooves" in the joint. I noticed that one of the shafts was slightly bent, and I think I can have the shaft heated up and straightened out, and then put back in. Dealer tells me there is a 20% restocking charge for the parts, which I at first I was unaware of damage. Anybody ever bend a front axle shaft before and have it fixed, or had to spend $225.00 for each axle plus labor for replacement?
