Modded 400 Scrambler Power
#1
I just ordered some parts for my 99 400 4x4. By this weekend, I'll have - K&N filter with RCR air box mod, V-Force Delta 2 reeds, HPD trail pipe with RCR silencer, RCR clutch kit, and RCR machined head. How much power do you think I'll have? The only dyno charts I have been able to find are from HPD. Is it safe to aasume I'll be somewhere between "trail pipe" and "trail mod" horsepower? Also, anyone know how much torque these things put out. I'm hoping to get a big boost in low and mid range with this setup. One thing I forgot to ask Rick from RCR was if I need to change plugs with the head work. Anyone know? Also, do you know if I'll get an accurate reading if I run my quad on a motorcycle dyno? I can't wait until this weekend to put everything on. I've only had the Scrambler for about a month now and I already dumped $1000 into mods and accessories. It sure is fun!

Hey Matt, after you get the mods done, try out the top speed again. I wouldn't mind knowing the increase you get. I am probably going to do the exact same things to mine. You had 54 on GPS, right? Post how you do with these mods.
Thanks

Matt, you can still run the same plug. You might want to check with Rick and see if you should gap it down. With the HPD mods, we run .018-.020 gap. You should be in between those charts also. As far as the chassis dyno, the direct engine dyno is the most accurate, but the chassis unit can give you some interesting tuning also. Also check with Rick, most of us retard our timing 2 degrees, a couple of free HP.
