True, a lot of retired older people might like this one. Probably will only drive it once or twice a year, and let the grand kids tool around on it in the yard. Thing is though, a $3000 ATV would be great for that. I hate to see someone pay $7500 for one.

$7,500 and its specs suck. The auto tranny seems good but that is about it. But certainly not worth the extra dough. And you know that Honda dealers will not let this thing go for less than MSRP. There are better buys out there. For example:

$6,319 gets one a SP700.
$6,100 gets one a Prairie 650
$6,400 gets one a Grizz 660
$5,900 gets one a SP500 HO
$6,500 gets one a SP500 HO RSE or DU with a winch.

Not saying that the Rincon will be a bad ATV. It may well be very good. But these 5 ATV's are better equal or better specked than the Rincon at $1,200 or more less. Honda is a good name in my book. But not $1,200-$1,600 better than any of these. Just my opinion.

Naaaa, I meant the accord. It too has a nice ride and will take you to the same places as the Rincon.

Honda made its name with the bikes and quads from 10 years ago, but the new one on the floor at your local dealer now, has far less then "bullet proof reliability". There have been problems with Rubicon trannys, racks, etc. 400EX's frames cracking, rear axle housings ect.
But ask the uninformed joe on the street corner if hondas are bullet proof and he'll probably answer "Yes, that is what I've heard"
Just goes to show what 30 years of advertising and countless greased pockets will get ya. "Yes, that is what I've heard. No I do not own a honda, but that is what I've heard."

Have you noticed now that Honda is integrating a lot of feauters that are now on quads that have existed for long periods of time. But lately, Honda has lost a little reliablity, the 2002 Rubicon is not as reliable as the old 1993 300, cause it was basic. Now a lot of people dont' want basic quads anymore, they need IRS, digital displays, and all types of little gagets. Now that quads aren't basic, or no frils like before, they have more stuff to break, or go bad. I dont like the idea of having some many electonic stuff on a quad, like the Rincon. And what about the jimmy rigged torque converter, i'm sorry, but all the crap scares me.
It is easier to work on a belt drive on a trail, than say, the rubicon transmision, which has to be pulled, and shipped off.
I was told that tranny is not serviceable.
What im' saying is, I like toys on my quads, but we have to draw a line somewhere, or things will get too high tech, and really cause problems.
Look at Artic Cat, very dependable, just simple, tough quads that work hard forever.

Well it's not a sport, or even sporty, without disc brakes and a high tech motor. It's not a serious utility without a low range and a front locker.
IT is not going to be reliable with all those bells and whistles and a voodoo transmission. The Foreman ES is plagued with shifter problems, the Rubicon and Rincon trannys are just too weird, and as pointed out by Polarisman, not servicable. I love the looks, and the IRS, but Honda suspension has been pretty crappy, so we'll see if they can measure up. Yamaha's Grizz didn't measure up to Polaris in the suspension and handling department, but blew everybody else away in weight and power.
....It Ain't Rocket Science! When are they gonna get it right?
