If you dont think you have to warm up your machine, your WRONG!! Even in the summer I let mine warm up for about 2 minutes before even thinking about moving it. in the winter about 10 min. or more depending on how cold it is. Not letting it warm up results in problems, first, your piston expands faster than your cylinder wall when you doent let it warm up. then it scores your cylinder up and damages your piston in the long term. (then u lose compression and start eating oil.) Also if it isn't warmed properly then the high oil pressure will work it's way out seals and gaskets. then u get oil where u dont want it!!!(out valve covers,in recoil, and belt drive cover.......) I know most of you out there arnt warming up so i would think twice next time you go to start it up!!!!!!

I got a little oil leaking out of my valve cover. Does that mean I have a problem of just a bad valve cover gasket???

generally on 2 stroke engines it take only a few throttle shots for 2-3 min and go out (when properly jetted) you have just to vary the throttle alot when first started the 10-15 min of riding and not WOT.

you are correct because you can cause "cold seizure". if you see score marks on the intake side of your 2 stroke piston that is "cold seizure"
