Hello, a good set of reeds (v-force) would be a great next selection. Also, porting your cylinder will add tremendous power and torque gains without affecting reliability. Look in e-bay. I do the work on these cylinders cheap in comparison. When you start adding more power, you'll have to change your clutching to benefit from it. Bubba

so you're running the hot seat kit and need more, get the the v-force 2 or boyesen rad valve+ reed spacer, take off the stock airbox and get an filtercharger,a new carb will get you the snap you want...
while done it if you still want more go with porting, lighten flywheel,
you might get the billet head first if you're piped...

Everything Bubba, and Scramblered said, just a suggestion though, V-force II's make 1 or 2 more HP on the dyno...depeding on what else is modded. After any cylinder, air filter, carb mods, make sure to check your jetting. Always start off slow and work your way to WOT (wide open throttle)

Good luck, and have fun!!!

Ken

hey HSP400,are you running the new hot seat silencer unit? what do ya think about,i got one last week and tried it out,i came up to concluded they're older one (2000 catalog) was better,by the way i had all the hot seat mods in the past and i suggest you to make alot of testing with the plug and clutch setup with their pipe before looking for more cauze the kit cannot be dialed-in perfectly to YOUR riding style and conditions,i got 2 gen 2 in the past, this one is very strong pipe but not as quick as others do on bottom end so play with the clutch springs...
this pipe make most hp at 6700-6800 rpm, hope this help, enjoy your scram!

Thanks guys for the info. I think I will go with the reeds then a Billet head. I looked at HSP & HPD they look the same but the HPD looks like it uses a oring vers a gasket. Is that like on my Mustang I had the block O-ringed. Scramblered I have 2 400 on ithe the old HSP and one with new. They are set up the same and run about even. I like the sound of the old one better.
