Hey, I just got the new September issue of DirtWheels. Check out pg10. Heres what it says,
Predator from Polaris
Finally after 18yrs in the ATV manufacturing buisness, Polaris answers the challange to build a high-performance quad.
Unlike other Polaris quads, the Predator doesn't use MacPherson struts up front. Instead it uses a double A-arm suspensoin simmilar to all othere sport quads etc...
at the end it says to check out the full testing of the Predator in next months issue.
heres a link, might make all of you that don't think a Polaris change your mind.

I wouldn't buy one the first year. Wait and see what is going to be all the first year problems. There always seems to be first year problems. Polaris has never made a ride like this before so I bet there will be plunty of them. Later

Polaris has never tested a quad like this before release either. This engine has been beaten up for 3 years. With the test and development this quad has been through, hopefully the burps will be few. They all have them, look at what we put them through. Time will tell.

That website is where we got our 2000 Sportsman 500 from.
A great dealer, but not so great of a product! many belts, brake pads/rotors, and now a new clutch.... dont get me wrong it was great in mud, but the parts couldn't take it... more than what you'd expect to be normal maintenance... it added up, but luckily the extended warranty covered the new clutch which would have ran over $400
Today we picked up a Kawasaki 650 and the Polaris is heading down the road.

I'm willing to buy this first year quad, this thing has been in development for a long time, the test quads were beat to death, Polaris did their homework and I would buy one in a heartbeat, actually, as soon as the deal gets one.

nope, they don't, but take honda for instance, lucky to take a year to design a quad, and it is hardly even tested.
This thing was in development for 3 years, and tested for how long?
I'm sure modquad could give us the numbers.
Rincon, you are startin to Pi$$ me off, you always have to bring up somethin that you dont' know what you are talkin about $mart a$$.

That's a good point Ron. I've thrown that question out before to factory people....seems like there's gonna be some serious lobbying. Like Hondas battle with the 450 concept machine. I truly believe it would already be out if the race officials hadn't set the limits on CC's. Just like everything else, gonna have to wait and see what happens. Just got my spankin' new Predator hat today. Still waiting on the jersey and t-shirt.
Helps with the waiting process I guess.
