wont idle
#1
I have a 2002 magnum 500 with 125 miles on it. I went to start it today and it started and then died, i didnt think anything of it and just started it again and it ran fine..after about 45 min. of riding i stoped the machine and it died so i started it and it ran then died again and i did that several times and it kept doing the same thing...it would only run when you give it gas; so it runs fine going down the trail. but it only does it somtimes, like now it is running and idling just fine....i aint done nothing after market to the carb either. any help would be nice!

Have you adjusted the throttle cable yet, it is a new machine, and the cable will stretch as the machine breaks in, cause the ETC to think the throttle is wide open, and cut the motor off.
My mag did the same thing, 2 minute fix, and your back on the trail.

no i havent adjusted the throttle cable yet..but if it was that wouldnt it not idle all the time insead of just some times?? and if you could just say alittle on how to adjust the cable that would be nice.. is it the adjuster by the handle bars? or the one by the fuel tank? because i have messed around with it on my other magnum. so all u do is take the slack out of the cable? well if u or anyone else could right back that would be great!!
