My chain broke yesterday on my '99 TrailBlazer. All that I was doing was peeling out tryong to get out of some deep ruts and then SNAP! It only broke the main link so it sholdn't cost too much. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Was it a good one? I have seen people snap chains that bought the lowest costing one they could possibly find.

 

it was the chain that came on it stock

 

Maybe you hit a rock or something that damaged that link, and it just slowly weakened...and snap!

 

spinning in reverse you can catch the spring clip on the master link and pop it off because you are putting force on it in the wrong direction.
