You have to remember that an engine is an air pump. The amount of air is dictated by size of bore and stroke and what rpm. If you change nothing on the engine in terms of increasing the CC's or increasing the RPM a ton the larger carb will not do you any good and you will probably loose. The larger carb allows more air flow and is designed with the airflow in mind to pull the fuel through the jets. The 2 stroke vs 4 stroke thing also comes into play here also as far as amount of air flow through the carb.

Now back to your first part of the question. I don't know if it will fit or not. My guess is it will fit the intake but how the rest lines up?????

Remember If you put a larger Carb on, you NEED the same ability to exhale as to inhale so it works properly, a good exhaust pipe combined with that carb will make a huge difference.

The more air and fuel that you can pull into the motor the more power that you gain.....just like on snowmobiles how you bore out the carbs........thats really the only difference in the 500 and the 500ho.......
