My Quest 650 is faster then my Sportsman 700??

In all the mags that I read, they stated that the Quest was faster on top end but was "slugish" through the low and mid ranges(probably do to higher gearing). But then they say that the Quest pulled their sled further than the other machines(even with the other machines modified, and the Quest was NOT).Hmmmmmm wierd!
Actually, the truth is that the test riders wouldn't give the Quest it doo because it was the LEAST sporty of the machines, and they thought it was UGLY!!! Well, thats some real good "technical" advice their Dirt Wheels, ATV 4wheel action.

i agree, no pipe,or power kit. but the article conterdicts itself wat too much. in the captions below the pics it shows a k&n power kit and says we outfitted all the quads with this, and in the mod list some of them don't have it (as well as some other conterdictions, this was just one!!)

I agree about the magazines. They tend to give higher points to the machines THEY like rather then the one that really deserves to get it. I love both my machines. My Sportsman 700 does everything I want in a 4x4...my Quest is the same, it just does it a little faster. Either way, there both great machines with TONS of power. More then most people will ever need!

BigBad700T,
If you had to sell either your 700 or 650, which one would you keep for a wide range of all trail conditions? Ranging from mud to woods trails to using it for work? Is there a big difference in ride comfort due to the IRS on the Polaris? Thanks for your response. Sometime next year, I plan on getting one of those 2 quads.

Waylan, there is a HUGE...I mean HUGE difference in the ride of these 2 machines. Hands down, the Sportsman is the winner. The ride my 700 gives is something you have to feel to believe. At high speeds, or low, it's amazing!! if I had to sell one, I would sell the 650. Don't getme wrong, I love my quest...it's a powerhouse and it's fun to ride. It has faster take off then my 700, but my 700 is a torque monster. Either way, you will have fun with both machines, but if I had to sell one and buy another, there would be another 700 Twin in my garadge.

i own a SP700.
i've been reading this topic for some time and went to a Bomb dealer last weekend to check-out this 'hot rodding Quest'.
my question to y'all is WHAT attracted you to look at the Quest and WHAT attracted you to actually buy one?
also, did you buy the little pouch to fill the odd void between the front of the seat and the dash?
see-ya,
