predator mods

2manytoys, I love Polaris's as you can see, but the Banshee will always be the king of power and speed. You can make as big a single cylinder 4-stroke as you can, put it on alcohol and add some go juice (aka nitrous), and it still wont handle the bad modded Banshees. We have a Banshee here at the local dragstrip that is running race gas without wheelie bars, and he is running 7.60's in the 1/8 mile (660 ft) at over 86mph. He has run 93mph at the 1000ft mark.It is not a 500cc powervalve motor or even a 420. It is under 400cc. the big thing is also that he takes it to the local sandbar and goofs off as well, a very driveable machine. Also Ken, are you getting rid of the race mod Sport? I wouldnt think so but didnt know. Take care all,Bubba

You said Polaris did a shootout against all the top bikes, but for some reason they did not include the Cannondale or Bombardier, which IMO are currently the 2 fastest bikes made. I do believe the Predator is fast, but I don't think it will be faster than the Cannondale and Bomb. That's just based on the fact that those 2 quads weren't included in the graph because it would make the Predator only 3rd fastest. I do think Polaris has come up with a steering system that will be copied by many other manufacturers in the future. I am anxious to see how Predators will do against other machines in the real world, rather than in the "Polaris world."

That graph on the Predator site is a joke. IF anybody believes that it is valid, your not good at deciphering bolgna from prime rib. How can these bikes lose speed, then gain it back? Take for instance the Z400 at 60 MPH, it loses like 2-3 mph, that picks up again, get real. I think the Predator will be a pretty kick butt machine, though.. Its just that graph is a joke. We are going to have to wait and see them out in the wild before we can make the claims. I for one, cant wait to race one in a few months...With my ol banshee

I just recently got a chance to see this quad in action at a mx race. The guy who was riding was supposedly the one who designed or helped design it. (Daryl Rath) He is also the one who designed the KTM 520 quad as I'm sure most of you saw in Dirt Wheels. Well I'll say I wasn't real impressed. He is a pro riding with a bunch of amateurs and he got beat in the second race. He got the hole shot on both races but just barely. But I guess he got it is all that matters. There was a guy who rides for him on a 250r that eventually passed him the second race. (Bet he doesn't ride for him anymore...haha) Anyway, last year when he rode he smoked everyone by a longshot. But then he was on a 250r which he seemed to be able to ride a lot better. I was kind of hoping he would have rode the KTM. Now that is a sweeeeeet machine.
