I love my Sportsman.Does everything I need it to do.Plenty of power, great agility thru the tight turns and woods which is certainly better than the Grizz. With the Polaris shop manual maintenance is a breeze, with the grizz you have to adjust valves approx every 500 miles so I've been told.Yesterday I past up a grizz 660 in a straight away and his has a pipe mod. and carb kit. I don't intend to bash Yamaha's, I think they are a excellent machine. Parts are a issue when ordering them from Yamaha, my friend has had to wait 2-3 weeks some times for parts to arrive i.e. brake shoes. One thing I have found is that there is more aftermarket parts available for the Yamaha, just me perception though I could be wrong.Buy what you like they are very similar as far as capabilities.

Hello,

My Dad and my Son both ride 500 HOs. They love them. We ride in the mountains of Tennessee alot, and they perform fantastic. My son's had 33 miles when we got it. Two months and two trips to Tennessee, he now has 1000 miles exactly. He's 14, and I think it's the perfect machine for him. Plus it's a good ole American made machine.

Hope this helps

Our family has four (2000, 2001, & 2-2002s). All have been outstanding machines. I highly recomend the 500HO.
