Do you mean your secondary clutch. I think the primary is connected to motor.

no, you do need special tools to get the primary off w/o breaking it.

Yes, you need a clutch puller for both the primary (engine clutch) and the secondary (trans clutch) your local dealer should have them for you to rent or borrow (case of beer helps in the thank you department).
Where abouts is Cedar?

You can buy a puller bolt at Erlandson Performance. Click HERE and have a look.

Where's an easy way to do it without having the tool. Walexa told me this and it worked out perfectly. Find you a 2" trailer ball that is fine threaded. (Luckily enough I had one!!) Insert a 3/8" extension with a socket into the hole of the shaft coming out the primary clutch. Screw on the ball until you hit the extension, then take a pipe wrench and tighten on the ball. The clutch will pop right off without any problems. I've removed mine MANY times with this method.

Good idea 400fnSport. How do you take off the secondary clutch?
I might get a clutch kit for my Scrambler someday and would like to know as much as possible about these clutches. I've worked with this type quite a bit but never took them part for performance upgrades. After the clutches are off, what is the best way to replace the weights, spring, and bushings?

I've got a Hot Seat centering and alignment tools. Give me a shout and you can borrow them. I'll probably be running up to HPD's shop on Tuesday, we could meet somewhere.....I would want them back.....the Beagles will find you. hehe.

Seriously, they make installation, and perfect alignment REALLY easy. That rally you're talking about, is that the Wisconsin one that was plugged in Dirty Wheels? If so, wouldn't mind takin' in the drags.
