My engine will not do much more than idle. When I try to rev it up it wants to die. As I let off it runs normal again. There is no miss at all. But, it does seem to be running a lot hotter than normal. I have tried a new plug and adjusting the plug gap but this doesn't seem to help. All inside the carb appears to be clean. What could be my problem?

Hey Duster, sorry to hear about your problems. What engine, any mods?

First, I would check the carburetor bowl. It probably has some water in it. If no water and the rest of the carb is clean, I really don't know what it could be other than maybe a plugged exhaust.

the carb may be flooding out at anything more than idle if you increased the jet size try going to a smaller one or a different needle position or the carb may just need the air adjustment screw cranked out a bit. but it sounds most likely like its flooding out check your jetting

Like to see a pic...hope the forced air doesn't include water, mosquitos, small furry animals, or other quads..hehe

ive blocked off everything below the upper framerails to keep all the heat from the engine away from the intake, and after i did that i figured it wouldnt be hard to direct all the air directly to the airbox intake. so with some plastic and a soildering iron to mold it all to gether i made a "funnel" type thing so to speak that forces all the air to the airbox intake
