Has anybody used a replacement cable from HPD or RCR? Took off injector got throttle cable from HPD. RCR uses the same one. tryed to run the same route as old one but the alum. sleeve that goes in the jam nut on top of the cap on top up the carb viberates up. The throttle speeds up. do i need to run a differ route or am i doing somthing wrong. it is hitting the frame. not putting it to much of a bind but enuf to let it viberate up. it is a 2002 trailblazer.

I would maybe suggest removing the front plastic so you can get a clear open view of everything. Then maybe see if there's a slightly different route you can take to gain a little slack. You can use a little blue loctite on the locknut, and/or use a lockwasher.

O.K. just in from the shop. My HPD race-mod, with the HPD carb, and the HPD cable.....The metal elbow is crimped to the outer cable housing. There are two "loose" rubber boots that are just held in place via friction. One slides down over the nut on top of the carb, and the other is meant to seal the crimped end of the metal housing (the 90 degree). The metal elbow sits freely on the top of the carb..you can actually lift up on it, and it opens the throttle. On top of the carb there is an threaded adjuster with a jamb(lock)nut. The adjuster locknut is tightened down when the adjuster has been placed in the correct position.

If you have "no slack" in the cable so the throttle is opening when you turn the bars, you need to reroute the cable. Taking the plastic off to do this might seem like overkill, but you can make sure you have it routed properly.

Maybe your metal elbow isn't properly crimped on.
