Just made a deal on trading the 500ho for a '02 700. Waiting a few days before we actually switch because I need to know if the hd springs on my '01 500ho will fit on the '02 700. Got a pretty good deal on the Spruce one. Thanks

i'm just wondering why you don't go for an '03 model.
it has the no-splice belt and no grease fittings......which means less maintenance!
i bought an '03 700 black/silver for the same price as my '02 spruce.

i don't know about the front spring issue, sorry.

I know the rear springs are interchangeable.

But I am not 100% sure about the front. The exploded parts diagrams for the '02 sp500 and '02 sp700 are different and the front spring part numbers are different, too. I did make a spacer lift for a guy with a 700 and I made it to the same dimensions as the one I have on my 500. He said it fit so I have to assume the coil inside diameters are the same.

I suggest you call HighLifter or Progressive Suspensions for a definitive answer. Can't help anymore that that. Good Luck.

Thanks for the help. As far as not waiting for the '03. They made a deal I couldn't refuse. With my trade in it was worth while to go ahead and get the '02. I thought the '02 had the spliceless belt too.

The 02 does have a spliceless belt! And as far as a few less grease fittings, I to, choose to go with the 02, since it was 450 bucks cheaper!

guys,
'02 700-list $7399
'03 700-list $7499

in my area the incentive offer is low finance or $250 in options.

go with the '03 model!

it's not $450 more unless the dealer is playing pricing games with you to get rid of their leftovers!
and you know what? when you want to trade-in that ATV in 3 to 4 years, i think you'll get at least $700-$1000 more for that '03.
why? 1-the book value will reflect it. 2-the dealer will like it better because it isn't the FIRST year model with all the problems associated with the '02's. and 3-when a smart buyer goes shoping for the used 700's they WILL avoid the first year of production. it's just common sence!

....and that's my 2 cents!

have a great day!

BTW, when my 600 arrives you bet i'm going to trade in that '02 700!

Extenuating circumstances. I would like to have waited until next summer and gotten an '03 model. But didn't really have a choice. Thanks for the in put.

I just paid 6150 plus tax for an 02, there is a 450 rebate on them! I paid 6600(plus tax)in april for a new 02. my son totaled it out thats why i got a new one last week. Not all dealers will tell you about this rebate! The 03's list for 150 bucks more than the 02's listed for when they came out. but if you pay cash, they are the same price as the 02's! But, like I sais there is a 450 rebate, ifin your dealer tells ya about it!! btw, I have got a last run production 02 (06/30/02) which has the same updates as the 03! (still no water pump cover fix) So why wood a guy spend another 450 more? Just to say he has an 03?

Chubby,
gotta question.
have you had a problem with the water pump leaking on your 700s?
my overflow tank level went down 1 1/2 inches on my '02 around 100 miles.....couldn't find a leak.....toped it off and haven't had a level drop since! go figure!

do you think i should have it shaved and re-sealed just to be on the safe side?

thanks,
-MT
