Well my 400 Polaris 2001 sportsmen does have front braking or you may want to call it EBS. It did not come that way.All you have to do on "stock secondary clutching",,not EBS but stock clutching is change the setting on the secondary from a stock setting of2to2. Set it to 1to1 on the secondary and you will have EBS. Through a heelclick clutch kit in it and you will have one pulling yahmeeeeeha eating machine. And that includes the "standard" 500.

My Polaris does eat Yahmeeeees up,forward, backwards,in the mud,in the water, flat track'n,on the dyno tune machine.Hick I got 3 yahmmmmms around here.3 Polaris.2Hondas.Im atv poor.If my kids queit tairing any of them up Id be a rich man.And if their not ripping them up ,then the cops are over.I mean Im another Burny Max with no respect.I even had a buddy of mine pull my machine last week right out in front of a car.Just missed him.And to top that off, it was my car. No respect

Okay, the guy asked about a drag race...
My father has an SP 400, and though I haven't had much seat time on it I can tell you it's no speed demon.
I also have a friend with a Polaris Magnum 500 (w/EBS) and a friend with a '02 Kodiak.
I have actually watched them race and it's dead even...no one wins. Same acceleration, same top speed. Of course, the acceleration varies as to who hits the throttle first, but the top end is the same.
Now, I know the original question was about the SP 400, but I would guess that it's safe to assume that it is slower than the Magnum 500 (though I have not seen them race), thus making it slower than the Kodiak.

Ok,how fast will your yamhee go. Im talking kodiak400.I have two kodiaks here.Top speed out of either one of them is 58mph.Thats on a radar gun.The Polaris 400 witch is stock except the k&n air filter,re jeted, heelclicker clutch kit,on radar is 63 mph.My kodiaks,k&n air filter, rejeted,is 58mph.So its not like I did not try to peak the yamheees out.Cause I had thoughs before the polaris. What I did find out If you install a heelclicker clutch kit to any polaris you will gain around 8mph compaired to stock clutching. Also you are conected up to the tranny all the time like EBS but better.
