oil injection failure prone?
#2
Yes once and a while someone sees a failure.
I feel this was a problem on early prodution Polaris ATVs but I would not let it bother you. The new units are pretty good. Most guy don't eliminate the injection untill the start adding LOTS of horsepower (LOTS OF MONEY) and just feel safer.
To say that they are failure prone I feel is a false statement.

If you fear oil injection failure ensure to carry a extra litre of oil along with you encase you need to dump it into your fuel tank if your pump fails. I have known guys who have used gear oil in order to get home[snowmobiles].

I only know personally of one failure, on a 1993 or 1994 400L.
Otherwise, the ones I have seen have all been reliable.
I do know of another one that had the oil line torn out by brush, but it was due to gross abuse, so I don't consider that a failure.
By the way, the guy saw the 'low oil' light come on, stopped right away, and got home by dumping oil into the gas tank. As far as I know, his motor is still going strong.
