First time for brakes...
The back was easy..
On the front I have the caliper disconnected from the disk, but I can't see any way to slide the pads off. There is a hex head screw on one side but it doesn't seem to do anything...

I'd appreciate any help

I get it now, the hex screw is removed so one of the mouning pins can move back to release the pads... works great now.

That hex screw is your pad adjuster.Make sure after you install the new pads that you turn the allen screw in until it lightly touches the pads, than back it out one half of a turn.Good luck,===BILL
