my friend has a 1999 Scrambler 500 4x4. he bought it used, and i'm pretty sure the engine is stock. but, whoever had it before put some 26" vampires on the front and 25" vampires on the back. and my friend goes through some serious mud with this fourwheeler. isnt this hard on the transmission, considering these tires are much larger than stock? thanks for the help.

Putting huge/bigger tires on any quad will put more stress on it. How much and how bad...I have no clue.

Isn't it bad to have mismatched sized tires on a 4x4? Seems like something would be in a bind.

the 500 scram 4x4 comes stock with 23" tires in front and 22" tires in the back so having 26" tires in front and 25" tires in the back would be the same. It's just more stress on the tranny because of size.

Sounds like an awesome machine. Don't worry about wear and tear, that's what it's made for. Give 'er hell.
