Go with RCR for your TB mods. You'll get more for your money, and great customer service. A cool looking pipe does'nt mean squat on the trails!

Hey Blazer, I don't know about RCR like A400L, but I can tell you that I put a FTR performance pipe on my 98 Sport, and now it pulls so hard I can't keep the front end down. Good luck whatever you buy, and keep roostin'.

Mnexplorer, Sorry this reply is so late. Been busy in a longwall coal mine. This pipe is WAY louder than stock. Actually, I had a FMF pipe and silencer before the FTR. The FMF pipe blew apart at the weld, so I got my money back and decided to try the FTR. You'll lose a small amount of bottom end, but when the pipe comes on, it's hang on time! By the way, I also found out that FTR sells clutch kits, too. I've ordered one and will get back to you when it comes in.

Vmax, have you made any mods other than the pipe? I have the HPD trail pipe and it has not been overly impressive. If the FTR is that strong, then maybe it's worth a look. How did the FMF compare to the FTR?

pairof98s, did you add a clutch kit when you added your HPD pipe? Pipes and clutching works together, so they should be installed together. There is a good read on how this work if you look at this site http://home.stny.rr.com/planetatv/
look under the performance products section.

go with the hpd pipe and cluch kit in the t.b. 250
i done this to my wife quad and it made a big change w/the stock 42 tooth rear sprocket the quad whent from a top speed of 43mph to a top speed of 52mph with me riding it [240lbs] i know the speeds are right because i mounted a elec. speedo on the quad an also checked the speed aginst my g.p.s. and they were within .2mph of each other and in a drag race this thing takes off so hard it spanks my sport for about 50' or so. at the dunes this weekend it even got a BIG jump off the start on a few 400ex's not that it beat them just woke them up .i was so happy with the HPD pipe just ordered a load of stuff for my 99 sport

azelmo,

Have you tried putting a 34mm carb from a Sport on your Trailblazer? I did and it was worth it. I added the pipe (mine was an RCR) and the 38 tooth sprocket as you did. I was unimpressed with the lack of acceleration due to the smaller rear sprocket. I then thought that by adding the old 34 mm carb from my Sport I might be able to get it back. Well, I got it back and then some. I was never able to wheelie the Trailblazer before, no matter how hard I tried. Now it'll come up with a vengance.

Also by adding the 34 mm carb, I had a chance to try the U.F.O. (Ultimate Flow Optimizer). This is a little piece of plastic that fits in the bottom of the slide on a round slide carb to make it act like a flat slide. Let me tell you it is worth the $30 I spent. You do have to modify the carb's slide and rejet to a leaner pilot jet/richer main, but it is well worth it. The throttle response, while not in the same league as my Sport, has been improved enormously. Some day I'll look at porting and head mods, but for now it's quick enough for my girlfriend.
