Bought SP600 Today
#1
Well; I can't believe it either! I went from drag racing a 400 Sport on alky to riding a SP600. My first love has always been riding through the high desert of AZ on technical trails. I've been so wrapped up in racing ror the last three years that I had forgotten the joys of trail riding and less maintenance.
I was undecided as to which model I would purchase until the dealer pointed out all the differences. I rode the SP500-600 and 700.
Then we raced the 600 and 700 several times up a steep and windy paved road. The first race; the 600 pulled away slightly at the very top of hill and the second race was vice versa. The 600 is smoother, has better take off and seems to rev out better. The 700 had some noticeable torque gains. The 600 and 700 both felt more stable at high speeds than the 500. I couldn't tell you why but the mechanic agreed. I really like the new differential design and the lack of 4x4 hubs on the 600 and 700's. 330 watt charging system and large battery are a plus along with the VDO guages. Polaris has adressed the coolant leakage problems by reinforcing the water pump cover and putting protective covers over abrasion areas of coolant hoses.
Now for some R&R on the trail and a nice break in...
