scrambler tranny

I recently ran my transmission out of fluid (stupid me). The gears are whining now (imagine that). It seems to be working fine after putting the fluid back in it. My question is will the gears eventually seat themselves back in and quit whining or will I have this annoying noise forever. My other question would be is does anyone have any idea how much to get this fixed. 99 scrambler 500 4x4.

I would be a little more concerned with where your oil went than the noise your transmission makes. If oil can get out, then there is a chance that water and other $hit can get in.!! I would try and figure out where the oil went, why, fix it, then worry about the noise.

I'm currently opening up my transmission because of no tranny
fluid.... it also let out quite a whine but we thought that was
normal until..... it locked up and hasnt been driven since...
Now the transmission is open but all the gears havent been removed because of
lack of puller.... Hoever i hope to overcome that this saturday...
and see what damage was really done ... and what needs to be
done to repair it....
stay tuned...
