Turboman, if it is just brand new, give it some break in time (not too harsh) and it will loosen up. The 2-strokes loosen up real fast, but the 4-strokes take some time. Just for instance, my neighbor's Cannondale Cannibal took about 3-4 weeks of riding before it really broke in right. And I mean it gained 3 bikes in a drag race just from loosening up!Give it some time first and change the first oil on time. A complete clutch kit would definitely be my first choice on any machine.Bubba

If you tighten up the back shock (make it harder, mine came from the factory on the softest setting) it won't absorb all the torque and should come up a little easier. Screw the large nut on the bottom of your Fox shock to the top. It'll ride like a tank, but should be easier to pull up. Rode mine like that for awhile but it was to hard on this old back.
Oh yea it will have a noticable difference in power when it breaks in (about 4 or 5 tanks of gas, can't remember).
Also tighten the 2 torque bolts(2 each side) at the bottom rear of the gas tank, the ones that hold the 2 sections of plastic together they tend to fall out, mine did. And the cheap *** tie straps holding the air intake together(right below your left thigh) for the tranny come off and you can get water in your belt system a lot easier, get a proper hose clamp and put it on and it's reusable.
Other than those pesky little items I haven't had any trouble and I run the bag off mine as much as possible. Because hell that's what I bought it for.

I recently purchased a 2003 Scrambler 500 4x4 and it pulls the wheels up like nothing. From a dead stop I can punch it and it will come wright up.The power could use a little more for my prefrence but I am going to take care of that with some hop ups.
