i was just wondering if anyone has cut off the end of there factory muffler and if it will help on power and let it breath better i believe im going to try it

I took my pipe off and with a long screw driver beat it all the way in, I did this in about 12 different spots inside the pipe, its a little louder but I havent rode it yet, just did it tonight (Thursday) I hope theres more power

 

Why not just get a good muffler and not ruin your stock one for when you trade off your machine?

 

I dont know about everyone else but im broke after spending that much on a quad! sux

 

IF YOU WANT TO MODIFY A STOCK MUFFLER. TAKE A HOLE SAW THAT WILL FIT IN THE INTAKE SIDE OF MUFFLER AND CUT THE SPARK ARRESTER OUT. IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH OUT MAKING THE ATV MUCH LOUDER.

 

If it is a four stroke then doing anything to the silencer will do nothing for performance.Pipes and silencers do so much more for 2 strokes than 4strokes.Most of the power is built up in the pipe on 2 strokes.4 strokes are much more expensive to modify than 2 strokes.
