I have an 02 SP500HO, and would like a little more holeshot and lowend power. I am 225lbs if that makes any difference in setup.

Will just changing the clutch spring be the answer, and if so what color spring? Primary or secondary and do I need to change the helix as well?

I don't mind losing alittle top end, but I don't want to have it rev way up before engaging...I still want to be able to trail ride with it.

Change the primary spring and you will get more low end.You shouldnt lose top end.Go to the next color up and you should be fine.I think it is a polaris white or you can go to an EPI red.These are not to aggressive.
