New to forum, Just bought a new 03 SP 500 special edition
Hello everyone. I just want to let you know that through all of your input I was able to make a clear decision to get the Sportsman. I pick up the beautiful thing this Weekend. I spent some serious time in researching it and all that everyone had to say and it came between the Grizzly and the Sportsman. I believe I got the right one too. Thanks again and look forward to the years of fun with it...

It is a seafoam green and silver color , it comes with a 2500 warn winch with the multi mount system, and has crome rims , and also the 3 inch crome rack extenders. The dealer told me it is a special edition. I havent seen it anywhere else but other dealers have said that they know of them but diddnt get any. I guess it was one of those that the dealer had to special order if they wanted them. I pick it up this weekend and I cant wait.

That is a nice looking machine. We have one hanging from our roof at work. We actually sold it on saturday. Today, we have to get it back down. It was only up there for about a week. When I seen the topic of this thread, I wondered if you were the guy that bought it. I doubt you drove all the way from Michigan to buy it thou.

I also just bought the 03 SP500 HO special edition.
It is spruce green and silver. It has Rawhides, front
and rear winch mount, Warn 2500 with pistol grip
remote control and a handlebar mount, lots of
red powder coated suspension, silver painted rack extentions,
chrome wheels, digital display I can read with out my
glasses (a big improvement) and it seems even more
safety stickers stuck on on with stickier glue.
I traded in a 01 SP500 HO for this new one . My initial
observations:
1. The seat seems firmer- maybe just new
2. The brakes are great- might be the better
tires- they sure grip well
3. The ride seems firm- I like it- I think the suspension
might be set firmer for the winch weight- and again,
maybe the different tires- it tracks really well in loose
dirt
4. The key start is different- I wish it was on the left-
you want your right hand on the grip/throttle so you
reach accross with your left hand to turn the key
5. Graphics/ color are a matter of taste- but this
spruce/silver combination is beautiful to me
I have removed the pistol grip winch control holder
from the handle bars- I will keep the control packed
away. The winch goes on and off or front to rear
very easily- great mounting system- very well
thought out electrical connections which are all
rubber boot encased. I did not not know about the
smaller gas tank capacity- 4.75 vs. 5.5 previously.
If that is for a better snorkle, then it is worth it.
