Default 96 425 Magnum

I am working on a 96 425 magnum 6X6. It misses and backfires when reved up, it idles just perfect. It acts as if the rev limiter is kicking in sometimes. I replaced the revlimmiter but that didn't do a thing. I am at a loss right now. It seems lik it almost has to be electrical but it may not. It was running fine then all of the sudden it just started doing this. Any Ideas or suggestions.
Thanks in advence

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

Default 96 425 Magnum

Lets start off simple first. 1.check the muffler to be sure that the outlet isnt stopped up. 2.check air filter. 3. check the throttle cable for exsess play.4.clean carb out and check pilot jet. If none of these are the problem then pull the valve cover and check the valve clearance and the cam for worn lobes. These are about the only things I can think of to cause the miss. Hope this helps
