I am curious how the Scrambler 400 2X4 compares in a straight line drag race to a 400ex, Banshee and DS-650. All bikes bone stock as a comparison. My friends have all just moved up to these bikes and I,m thinking of trading up my 2000 Trailblazer already, or at least installing an RCR kit. If I move up to the 400 will I be able to beat any of these machines in a side road straight line drag.

The 400 is a fast machine, but stock for stock, the other quads you listed are faster. A 400 with some mods will have a better chance.

Lurch, I rode a 400ex a couple of weeks ago and I wasn't overly impressed by its speed. After all the hype I've read in magazines I guess I expected a real rocket. I thought a Scrambler might beat it.

I never rode a sport bike but I have to hand it to Honda if they found a way to make a 4 stroke motor that can out do a 2 stroke of the same size.

yes a 400 scrambler will kick the sh*t out of a 400 ex yes i no this because my friends has one and my scrambler will be it. deffinitly off the start never raced it against a banshee but there fast it would get beat but i ride with banshee 400ex 300ex blaster and lt 250r. a 400ex can harldy go a head of my friends 400 expoler it tops out at 60 so a 400ex probaly does 62 0r 63 the scrambler will do 65-67 stock and all of these machines are bone stock!
