Hey guys, i'm just curious..anyone know what the stock HP is on a trailboss 250 4x4? Also, is there any particular problems to watch out for on this model? Good/bad stuff about it? Thanks a lot

It is the same motor as the Trailblazer. The only bad thing about them is that is a 2 stroke motor. The motor is good and easy to modify but stock it does not have nearly as much torque as a 4 stroke. You cant use them to hunt because they are loud. But over all it is a good 4x4.Like i said it is real easy to modify a 2 stroke to get more hp out of them.22 hp is stock.

Thanks for the replys! My dealer has a '91 he got on trade in. Its only had two owners and is in excellent condition for the year. Only has one small crack (bout 1/4 inch) in the front plastic, and the seat is perfect....still has the original front tires. He started it up for me and it seemed to run great! I took it for a quick spin around the driveway but didn't have enough room or time to see how it felt on power ect. Right now i'm working for the dealer to help him catch up on some of his work...so i'm sure i could get a great deal on it. About how much quicker do you think this could be if it was modified? I'm not interested in it being extremelely fast or anything...but something pepier than my suzuk would be nice (then again, what quad isn't)

In stock form it is much faster and more powerfull then the Yamaha Timberwolf.
A great little overachiever. New it only cost a little over $4000 so a used one should be a really cheap little 4X4.
Ask the Trailblazer mod owners about power upgrades. Should be about the same options.

There are alot of things you can do to that 2stroke. Depending how much you want to spend on it. For about an extra 350 that thing will rock. It can go from 22hp to over 30 hp. If you dont want to go that far and are tight on money you can start with a primary clutch spring for about $18.00. This will give Quicker take off. A $90.00 clutch kit will give better take off,Quicker shift, and some more top end. Get a pipe, silencer, clutch kit , and that thing will be fast for a 250 4x4. It is a good bike and im sure if you are doing work for the guy he wont sell you a peice of crap. Get a good price and go for it.
