I like HPD motor products better than HSP. But you cant beat RCR customer service and he sells HPD stuff. I would give him a call first he is always the first person I call when I need something I think he might be able to get me. BTW is it a 400 or 500?

P.S. RCR # 618-644-3211 Phone is the way to reach him not email.

FACT IS NO ONE REALLY KNOWS WHO IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST

This has been a long time discussion. There are people very happy with each.

Past forum topic

You will be told many different thing. Everyone is going to tell you that what they have is good, Or they raced there bud with another kit and beat them so it must be the best. In most cases I belive people are not compareing apples to apples and oranges to oranges.
Here is the bottom line that I am sure Everyone that knows a little something can agree on, When buying Polaris performance Items stick with those who know Polaris(HPD,HSP,RCR,AAEN). Once you decide on a manufacture use there product through out, they make there product to work with there specific products for best performance. If you do this you will be extreamly happy and have a sweet, powerful ride. Thats the best we can do untill we get some FAIR, NON BIAS tests comparing there product.

Note: I have a HPD Nickle trail pipe on the way, Plan to do some testing between AAEN, HSP,and HPD.
AAEN top end pipe VS Hot Seat gen 2 VS HPD trail. I will have all three and we plan to swap them out between 2 bikes
(2000 400 2x4 and 99 400 4x4) and make some evaluations.
Probably won't happen untill spring when everyones 400 scramblers will be collecting dust, as there out on there Predators. LOL

BubaHyde, I look forward to your evaluations. Is your "99 400 4x4" a Scrambler or an Xplorer?

I agree whole heartedly with everything you said. The problem is getting
ANYBODY to do aftermarket testing on mods for Polaris quads. I think it will
be a cold day in h#ll before someone does!

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

Bubahyde looking forward to your comparison on these pipes.Be sure to give us a detaled account.I personally like the Aaen products for 2 strokes. But I bet there isnt much differance in all 4 of them other than noise like wih HSP pipes.

I agree 100%. I don't see it happening. I believe 250/400 2 strokes will soon be a thing of the past. 4 stroke machines have came a long way and are certainly the wave of the future. Sad but true.

daveruane
Both machines are Scramblers, a 2000 400 2x4 and probably my 99 400 4x4. May use my 2000 also, opps, well the wifes 2000 if I can hide it LOL It is nearest to stock of all three. Anyway all are scramblers. Probably won't get to test untill spring, its getting too late this year.

You know there is a complete Hot Seat kit for a 400 Explorer on Ebay right now (11/3/02).
Just FYI. Note: Probably loud and would need add on sparky.

ftwflh
I mostly agree with you. I can say this, My AAEN top end pipe is louder and tingeeer compared to my Hot Seat Gen 2 pipe. Seems that way . I am very eager to try the HPD pipe. I am kind of breaking my own advise In what I do (mix and match). I have bought most of my Mods second hand. (save alot $$$)
My 2000 has a Hot Seat Gen2 pipe with an HPD Clutch kit and Drum conversion.
My 99 400 4x4 is a complete AAEN stage 4.
My buddies 400 4x2 is a MOSTLY complete Hot Seat exterminator kit.

Hotseat's customer service leaves a lot to be desired, and AAEN's is only a little better. I have spent hundreds of dollars with all of them and personally I would stick with Ritter or HPD whenever possible.
