JUST GOT MY NEW SCRAMBLER!
#1
Yep. I just picked up my new 2000 Scrambler 400. I also picked up my 1998 Xplorer 400. Had 26" mudrunners added. What a difference! Feels so mean! I tried both tonight for only 20 minutes. Xplorer feels like the ultimate beast! The Scrambler is quick and nimble but I have to get used to the small and tiny feel of it. Honda riders must think I am crazy saying the Scrambler feels like a mouse! I really hope I get used to it.
Tomorrow:
The Ultimate shoot-out: Scrambler400 vs. Xplorer400!
Sand, hills, dirt, bumps, MUD!!!
Its gonna be great! As long as my wife lets me back on my Xplorer once and a while!

There's only one problem with my job...I own a buisness and work from 9 a.m. to about 1 a.m. almost every day! Took one vacation in 8 years. This year is different...once every two weeks I go way up north to a camp near a lake about 40 miles inside the woods. Total exile! The only way to not think about the job. Fishing, hunting, ATV'ing, MUDDING!
Maybe I will quit and move into the woods!

Results of shoot-out:
Speed: Scrambler by a longshot!
Mud: Xplorer with 26" twice as good.Scrambler went through everything also. Smoked the belt a bit though.
JUMPS: Scrambler flies better. Xplorer's wheels hit on impact!
RIDE: Much more stable on Scrambler but got all muddy and wet after 2 minutes! It splatters everywhere. More sore today also. Rides a bit harder and bumpier than Xplorer.
Results: They are both very different bikes and I do not regret at all getting the Scram! Now I know why they didn't call it the "Crawler"! I have to figure out a way to make it a bit better on low speed mud-crossings. Too bad it doesn't have a low gear.
Very satisfied and anxious to go riding this week!!!!!
