OK this is the deal and only deal on the Trailblazer!!! It is a great bike but it needs mods. Stock they are real slow, handle great, comfortable ride, heavy and stable, great on trails, good ground clearance and by no means it ever be a race bike (unless you get the whole race conversion $1500)ouch!!! I love my Trailblazer with the mods that i have on it. I smoke most others on the trails because of the automatic and tons of low end. Stock you will only see about 50mph with a bottom end lagg. It wont wheelie stock. It wont even beat a Blaster!!! I put on the mods and i have tons of low end and top out at 63mph. I can beat a stock Scrambler off the line and pull ahead untill about 50mph then the Scrambler catches me and pulls right on by. Not bad for a little 250cc bike. I have only put in about $500 and baught it used for $1600. It is now a kick a$$ bike for $2100 and only a few mods left to go but not in a hurry to do it. Like i said it is a good bike but it NEEDS the mods to wake it up. Or you can go for the new 400 Trailblazer (the old Scrammy) and you would be good.

Is your flywheel lightened for race or trail. How much of a difference
did you notice?

Yes the flywheel is shaved and it revs much quicker than before. It revs quicker so the shiftout is faster. It is worth the money.

The trailblazer 250 is a good bike. I plan on buying on for my wife to put around on till I saw what used scramblers and sports are going for. It takes a well moded 250 to outrun a stock 400. So I suggest looking into a 99 or newer 400. The prices I see them for used I want to buy one every week.

A used 400 would be the way to go. A new 250 Trailblazer goes for $3400 and you can find a used 2000-2001 Scrambler for about $2800-3000.

Here is a pic of my stock 1996 Trailblazer doing a Wheelie !!!
It's not that fast , but at least the whole family can ride it.
