rolled scrambler
#1
i went out riding with a few of my friends today, and the one has a scrambler 400 4x4, and he was doing donuts in my shale quarry, and he flipped it over on its side. its teh fourth time hes rolled it. the fenders got scratched up real bad too. the bars didnt bend either. he wasnt wearing a helmet at the time, and thank god, he didnt get hurt.

They are a little top heavy. Part of this is their weight, part of it is that too much of that weight is high, and part of this is that it's pretty narrow. When he adds new tires he should get rims with more offset. That will widen the stance and make it feel better. Thats a trade off in the woods of course, but lots of quads are 48" wide, and then 400 is pretty narrow....
I've not seen anything else obvious to do, or I'd do it... The frame just places the rider up and on and that puts center of gravity up higher too...
Hey, who knows, maybe he'll do this before he buys a pipe. If so, you can stay in front a while longer....

The Scrambler is just one bad *** machine. I've rolled mine several times and it comes out with only some scratches. All that weight landing on the bars, throttle, and brake lever yet they come out fine. I once rolled at nearly 20mph at Little Sahara. I flew like Superman. WooHoo!!!

its definatley got some power. i only beat him by a few lenghts in a 150 yard drag with my piped 400EX.
i think that he had the 4wd on when he flipped it, but he says he didnt...hmmm.....
