Default 700 top speed?

Okiedude and Kevlar,

We all know the 500's, 600's and 700's all rock...why else would we be in the polaris forums...right ? I have my 600 Twin on order and should be shipping to me within the next week. I cant wait to get it and get it out on the dirt and public lands here in New Mexico.

I wish I had the room and mone to have my 600 and get my wife the 500...this is probably what will eventually happen anyway....ride on

Default 700 top speed?

AtvMeister,
dude, i was quoting Upnorthunter with the double heavy weight riders doing 70mph! i never tried it........and i'm no heavy-weight either.
i said it was nuts to go that fast with a combined weight of 400+ pounds!

OFFDAROAD,
good one man! LOL

you guys have me intrigued. i'm going on the paved road and break the law again to check my top speed. i really think that bad boy topped-out in the low 50ties. i'm gonna try it again to be sure.

also, if it does top-out at 50. i'm going to look for that little switch OFFROAD was talking about! LOL

see-ya,

I raced my friend on his brother Scrambler 500 and we were even off the start but I had more top speed. The speedo goes up to 60 and mine was burried so I was going over 60 on a gravel road.

First of all the only top speed readings that are acurate are those on a GPS, secondly a 700 will not do more then 65 at the most when stock, and thats pushing it, thirdly if your 03 sp700 have not been broken in yet then it will not hit top speeds just yet. break in periods are 200 miles or 20 hours!

hey dougiedoo, if you press the override button (on ours its a yellow button by the start button) itll get rid of the sputtering...just be careful, it makes it go a lot faster in reverse.

I had my 04 700 clocked with GPS 67.3mph. This is about .5 mi stretch pavement. One thing I will say, ok found out the top speed and I will never try this again. It gets pretty scary running a 700lb machine with Rawhides that fast on pavement. Not that it was squirrelly, just afraid of blowing out one of the tires from the heat. That would not be fun. One thing to note I do have a Dalton Ind. clutch kit and a K&N filter. I doubt it helps top speed but I know it helped acceleration over stock.
