I am going to do some snorkel work on mine.. Since mine is down for a bent axle.. NOT THE MACHINES FAULT... A DRUNK IDIOT hit my machine..... Bent axle, bent hub, bent wheel... Gonna be a bent dude if he doesn't un-*** some money quick for parts.. I will take some pics of that, and the tie rod ends... since I will have plenty of time to put them on...

Adam,
No.. The factory axle that was claimed by one severe game of TUG-O-WAR... I pulled a BigBear 350 4x4 with Vampires all over the place, so my buddy unloaded his RCR'ed Sportsman 400 with Vampires and tied it to the front of the BigBear, and them two against me played tug of war.. It started wheel-hopping and I didn't let off.. It snapped the axle CLEAN in half.... Right inside the right axle hub.. Got that fixed under warranty. But, its NOT under warranty anymore.. but its on this guys Visa Card as of this afternoon.... New bearings, seals, axle, hub, wheel.

Mud,

Cool snorkel!

From the picture it looks like you have an exhaust clamp holding the pipe to the framework for the back rack, with no shock mount. There must be some horrible vibration with the exhaust now hard mounted to the framework?

The idea is to keep the engine and exhaust isolated from the framework to keep the vibrations from the operator.

Am I viewing the picture wrong? Is there a shock isolator in there?

DJ

DEEJ....

The pipe is rigidly mounted, but the pipe is FIRMLY clamped down, and that pulls it slightly against the edge of the composite rear rack. After several hours of running, it DID slightly melt the edge of the rack.. not bad, but enough to make its own nice little holder for the pipe... (a.k.a. REDNECK FIX!!) There are no vibrations from the exhaust...
I also replaced the cheesy stock muffler springs with ones from True Value Hardware.... they are MUCH stiffer..
Working on PVT snorkel.. got something that I think will work.. just gotta finish it up tomorrow afternoon.... I will take some pics tonite of what I have done... Maybe I can figure out how to put them on my homepage and not make it so freakin big...
Any help in this area is appreciated... Polaris oughta build a computer I could work on that!!
