front brake pad replacement
#1
I replaced my brake pads at 350 miles the first time. I bought Polaris pads and now at 750 miles they need replacing again. My EBC pads came in today. My question is, what is the proper procedure for removing and installing the front brake pads? I seem to remember(and it wasnt that long ago) having a little difficulty getting the new pads back on and since then Ive learned that the little allen head screw is for preload adjustment. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Ist thing jack up your quad , Second take off your wheels then unbolt your caliper then take out the allen screw completly. This will allow the pads to be removed much easier. If you squeze the caliper down against the piston ,it will allow for enough room for you to take out one pad at a time. Each time while squezing the caliper with your fingers then reassemble in the reverse order hope this helps Jaime

Ronnie,
When pushing your caliper piston back into the wheel cylinder, LOOSEN the bleeder screw.... I realize thay you can force the fluid back into the master cylinder, but this is BAD for the master clyinder... That also used to be common practice for automotive shops.... but doing that can/will eventually tear up the master cylinder and proportioning valve.
Also, by shoving the fluid out of the wheel cylinder thru the bleeder screw, you will purge the old, moisture contaminated fliud out of the cylinders which will help to extend the life of the entire brake system.
Just food for thought!!...
