If you have read the post titled HPD split brake and GNCC, you already know my dilemna. If not go read it.

My question is how many of you use the stock Polaris brake system and are happy with it? This is a loaded question since all different types of quads and riding styles are here. What I'm after are those that have modified their machines performance wise, i.e. pipes, engine mods, clutch work, etc. I want the most effective system for riding aggressively.

Any not so well known modifications to the system, mainly rear brake, would be appreciated. I am severely disappointed with the lackluster (read sucky) rear brake setup I now have. This is the HPD split brake system with Magura master cyls. The Magura has decent pull but almost ineffective stopping power. The system has been bled properly by both myself and a friend who couldn't believe how poorly my rear brakes worked.

I am almost convinced that the rear caliper is not designed to be used as a separate brake, but rather as part of the 60/40 brake system. I know other quads I've ridden have much more effective rear brakes, and am looking for input on any mods. others may have made such as installing different manufacturers calipers or rotors.

If anyone has info. it would be greatly appreciated.
