Bill, if you're getting sore now, just wait another 15 years . Heck I get sore just from hoisting the damn quad around on the trailer before I even ride. The worst part of your spill is that your buddy had to see it all. From now on make sure you're riding behind him, that way you get to see his riding mishaps.
Taking a spill now and then is all part of it though. For godsake though don't ever let that beast fall on you. I flipped my Scrambler over on me a couple months ago but luckily I was able to roll it to the side with my legs before it pancaked me. That 700 would be like having a horse fall on top of you.

I know I'm a "whippersnapper" compared to some of the guys on this forum, but I would like to share a few observations. The first is to always keep yourself hydrated during a ride. Stop every so often and take a drink, or do as I do and take a drink as you ride. I'm talking water here guys, not beer. Buy yourself a Cammelback or something similar. You feel so much better the day after the ride if you keep fluids in you during the ride.
Suspension. The better (and softer) you have, the better you'll feel the next day. I used to ride my old 1984 ATC 200 Big Red about half as much as I did my old Sport. I felt sore for a week after riding 10 miles with the old Big Red (1" of front suspension 0" rear) than I would doing the entire Timberline/Marienville trail system (over 70 miles). In fact towards the last days of my Sport, I was ready to go again the next day.
Riding gear. While I hate looking like a billboard for a particular product or a "Power Ranger", it occurs to me that as you get older, you don't heal as fast. So get as much as you can and wear it often.
Just my two cents..

Your right crawdad that was the worst part of the hole thing but my buddy rides a 660grizz and theres no way Im riding behind him.Its a pride thing. And your right about this thing comeing down on me when I was younger I had dirt bikes fall on me no big deal but a 700 now that would hurt.I like to ride hard and a little to fast at times sometimes I got to stop and think about the house and cars and wife and kids Ive got to pay for.So being laid up for a few weeks wouldnt be to good.Maybe I should get that AFLAC.like the duck on tv talks about....

46 years old here, I run 2 miles myself, 5 to 6 times a week to keep in shape so the pounding that you get from riding a quad doesn't seem to affect me as bad because I am used to pounding the pavement. Now if I had an accident that's another story and can't be predicted.

lets see here, i just turned 24 last week, so im a younger one here, i hurt from riding a day of hard riding, the biggest help i have found is using a kidney belt, it made a big difference on how i felt the day after, i have rolled my big beast a DS 650 three times and ive had one close call, its was kinda how bill was talking about, i was doing so hard trail riding around the dunes and my front left tire hit a small (3 feet tall)pile of sand and it throw me over the handlebars and ripped my shirt, i had a bruise across my stomach but no real injuries, ride hard but be safe doing it

I hear ya Bill.
Last year I had a fairly bad hill climbing crash, My Scrambler ended up landing on the inside of my left knee with its floor board.
My leg was dark purple from my ancle up too my knee. I hobbled around for a couple months and actually still have a small dark spot on my knee from it.
I'm 33 now and am starting to slow down a little. Still go like a mad man on the trail, just a little leary of those DAM HILLS!!!!!!!
