Just got my new SP600!
Well I've been lurking around these forums for a week and spent hours reading posts. I have learned a lot and really appreciate all the time people put into these things. I was gonna get an SP400 but I decided to get the 600 after reading a lot here. So thank you all for costing me money.
I figured its a lifetime machine so why not go for it. I almost went to Minnesota for a GREAT deal - $5500 out the door and then 4-500 for the gas and hotel, but decided to buy here in good ol NJ the rip off state. My local dealer said he did the best he could... $7k out the door - wheeler and taxes and fees and bla bla bla. It was good enough. Then bought a bunch of accesories and the warranty which I figured you cant go wrong - 4 year, $0 deductable, and if you dont use it, you get 100% of the $699 back! Plus it was all free for 12 months! Heck I could be dead before then.
When they started it up it sounded good but had a loud knock which sounded louder on the right side of the engine. Didnt sound right to me, all you hear is the exhaust out the back and the knock in the motor, but mechs said it was normal twin sound. Thing runs like a clock, but has anybody thought this or heard this? Normal?
Got it home and took it for a spin. Its awesome! I wasnt real big on the idea of the automatic, but its alright once you get used to it. Didnt wanna scream around till its broken in a little, plus its deer season and orange hats were everywhere, but it flies. I think I'm gonna like it. Grew up on dirtbikes and quads, so I was bracing myself and hangin on hard but that thing was soaking up some decent size bumps and ruts like they werent even there. Never rode anything like it. Cant wait to get it broken in. Winch and plow and stuff on the way - if only there were more places to ride...

Just got my new SP600!
3forever,
I just got my 600 Twin on 12/9/02 and I had barely enough daylight to get it out of the crate before getting it put up but this weekend it will see some action for sure..........I have already rode other 600's and I really like them alot.....some variations in engine sounds from vibration and just being a different unit all together but they all seem to really ride great and they certainly dont lack any power other than from a dead stop.....hey these are utility machines so what do we expect. I live in NM and I got mine from the Hitching Post in Minnesota since I saved so much money....it was all worth it to me

yea meister, it would have saved me $1000 going to hitching post, and I was getting ready to go, but in the end I didnt wanna risk hitting heavy snow or breaking down which would eat into the savings. Plus I would have had to drive about 18 hrs each way by myself in 2 days. They said they did ship them to a customer before but found out it wasnt worth the time and money for them to do it.
I really wanted to get one for that price - glad for you that you did - good luck with it

HI ordered 2 from hitching post a 500 and 600 they said shipping to Arizona for both was $694.88 Even with shipping and Arizona tax for the 2 units I saved about $1700.00 from the best price I could get in Arizona The 600 is in waiting on my 500 then both will be shipped the same time Chuck (Sedona,Arizona)
