Predator VS Raptor Race results!

This has nothing to do with the race, but Like 14mins post, I have seen that adding a pipe and not jetting or not jetting right, the quad is actually slower then with a stocker on it. I have 2 friends with Z400s. One friend bought his from a dealer that has the yosh slipon installed and the other a fully stock machine. We asked what they did to the jetting and they said nothing, its stock. They both lined up and dragged them several times and the Z with the stock pipe won every time. This just leads me to believe that just cuz you have a pipe, that doesn't mean anything, untill you get the jetting right.
As far as the Predator goes, I have seen one beat a stock banshee in a drag down the road, probably by 2 quads or so. I rode it and I liked it all except the seat feels like you sink too close to the gas tank, but other then that, I like it. I haven't had a chance to race him yet, so I am not sure how it compares to mine. I'm just impressed to see how good it is comming from Polaris being there very fist quad like this. Good job Polaris

46hp??? No way. Maybe 35. A raptor and predator are going to be closer than a raptor z400. We run 1/8 miles around here. 300 feet only tell us who is a better pilot most of the time

Geez snarfblat,
I don't recall remarks like that in the Yamaha forum when you told your storys about beating Raptors.

i posted our predator drag results in the yamaha forum.basicly it beat a stock raptor everytime and ran bar to bar with a piped one.this was in 250ft dirt track and a very tacky starting line.

RaptorRider,
Wow!! that’s a spanking! You should have your Raptor put on the dyno, it sounds like you're putting out 65+ hp to spank a machine that dynos at 45 rwhp by that big of a margin.
How many bike lengths did you have on the Predator when you hit 5th is what I'm interested in?
Waiting until you're a 1/2 mile down the road on a faster bike adds false distance. In my experiences, I would have at least 4 lengths on a piped and jetted Raptor and about 8 on a piped and jetted z400 by the time I hit 5th. 20 bike lengths is huge gap. Rider skill is always a factor. Did you guys have a chance to switch rides?
It's also possible your friend got a lemon engine in the Predator.
I don't doubt you, I've just seen different from my own experience. I'm having a hard time figuring out how you dogged a Predator like that. I would have guessed about 3 bike lengths max by 5th gear.

Thumper- I know what raptorrider has in his motor i sold him the parts. 250 feet is not a good distance to judge a quads power.
Earlier it was said something about a stage 1 and 2 cam. The stage 2 peaks a few 100 rpm's higher. Nocando's has a great motor combo. The dual rate springs rob hp and he does not have them. A 11-1 piston, cam, pipe different airbox etc is a killer combo that will run with some aftermarket 686;s

How exciting, yawn, a built raptor beats a stock machine in a drag race. Why don't you run a Honda, Suzuki, and Kawi (all stock of course), and post the results on the respective web sites? I would hope that your built raptor would take this stock Predator, if it did'nt would you have posted the results? One more thing, what was the riders skill level? Just because he owned a raptor before the Predator does not make him an experienced, advanced rider.
I would bet money that the results won't always be the same from rider to rider. Your bike should always win against a stock machine, but not always buy 20 bike lengths as you claim.
But to have a built machine and race a stock one, then post the results of your domination, not impressed.

It was hard to tell how far when I first hit 5th I did not look back right away on the very first run. I looked back after I was in 5th for a little while. During the drag race he backed off after he felt he had no chance which was around 5th gear so I could not tell then I could guess but like I said he backed off and it would only be a guess. 15-20 lengths is not that far cruising at close to 80 MPH. I did not beat him by 15 - 20 lengths in an 1/8th of a mile. like I said this was after laying on it in 5th for quite some time. The 22" tires alone can make a big difference in top speed. There was one point where we were cruising and he jumped on it ahead of me by at least 3 quad lengths. I then nailed it myself and was able to catch up and pass him before hitting 4th gear.
We have a friend with a bone stock Raptor and I think he will be going next weekend and My buddy with a stock c-dale bailed out today but when we bring them along I'll post how they made out.
You can believe it or not I do not care, Like I said earlier if I wanted to lie I could have done it before now. He is not a computer guy like us or I'd have him post the same information.
My guess would be my quad has between 45-50 Hp at best not 65. If I went by what they say they have dyno'd it at, just a pipe and jetting will be about 50 But I don't go by what they say it has been dyno'd at....LOL
If the result went the other way I would have posted that too. I see you were not too bored to tears to post. I'm sorry I should have kept my quad stock to race him. I am probably a little better rider but far from a Pro.

Polarisdude- We had 2 stock raptors vs a piped predator. The STOCK RAPTORs WON
THE owner of the dealership and quad raced with us all day.He even had a stock 2001 raptor with him for his buddy to ride. We were beating him by more than a 100 feet most of the time on our modded raptors and DS. He still had a good time.
Why pick at nocando for building his raptor to his liking. Can he only run 686 raptors now???
