polarisdude has got it right, tests need to be run stock aginest stock, and you still need to have the rides switch off. I sure one of the atv mags will do a head to haed that will include the predator. I have a friend who wants to race me aginest his moded raptor and I running stock and 75 lbs more and my lack of experience , I beleive he will beat me . If the playing field was the level I would beat him. I just enjoy riding.

 

One time at band-camp.....or was it the dunes? I lined my HPD modded quad up against a stock 400ex, the flag was dropped, never saw him after that. Anyone out there have some stock for stock race (accurate) results. By the way, PIPED = aftermarket head pipe and silencer.....not just the silencer change. Unless someone out there is running tests for White Bros head pipe.....you don't have a piped Predator.

Just an observation here, so don't start throwing stones my way.

Nocando has an 11:1 (10:75:1) piston and performance cam, pipe, filter, jets, airbox mods.

Preditor stock has, 10:8:1? piston, performance cam already installed.

The differences aren't all that much. I'd expect a "stock" Preditor to beat a stock Raptor in a drag race. Not by more than 2-3 bike lengths. Now get a Raptor with a piston and cam and it'll be a different story. Add in an extra 160CC and its a bigger different story.

He said they were wide open for a half mile and he was 15-20 bike lengths ahead. He didn't say at the end of 300' or even 660'.

 

Some of you guys are killing me! Id except a stock Raptor to beat a piped Preditor just on cc's alone, 160cc is a big diference in size, take a 250ex and race a 400ex, there you only have 150cc diference. Who should win every race? Just the fact that the Polaris even hung with the Yamaha should be satisfactory, but some of you guy's think that they should be even or the 500 should out run a 660, come on now, give both bikes the consideration that they deserve, they both are nice bikes.

 

More CC's doesnt always mean faster.......take a look at cdale.....good example of that. and the new 450 bike motors, 50+ HP.....

 

Drumstix even though there is a 150cc differance that is not a good comparison... the 250ex is a manual clutch and the 400 is a clutch .... big differance

 

Perhaps I got a little carried away, then again how many smaller bikes (engine wise) can beat a larger displaced bike?
Most things being equal, rider as such, a larger motor should beat a smaller motor, can someone give me an example please?

and no 2-stroke vs 4-stroke's either! But if you want to give me an all 2 stroke example thats fine.

STOCK RAPTORS BEAT 1/2 PIPED PREDATOR TODAY IN THE 300 AND 660 DIRT DRAGS. We have cones up at the 300 foot mark on the way to 660. It was close but piped or 1/2piped raptors will eat piped predators. The head pipe does not do much for a stock motored raptor. The predator looks to have good head pipes from the factory. I am sure there will be a lot better slip-on for the predator real soon. Mbrp will look nice on the predator. The local dealer(polaris) is ordering in 6 of the first mbrp pipes. He did not like the white/polaris pipe.

I look to see the predator have a few teething problems and then turn out to be a decent quad. I doubt that i will ever own one though. It was nice hammering on that one today. Free rides are good.

 

Has anyone been switching riders? Sure would like to see some pics. Personally, White Bros over the last while has been pretty impressive in recent comparison tests. I'll wait for their head-pipe to go along with their silencer.
