Hey i'm just wondering if anyone has take there 500 to the dunes? I might be going ti Little Saharra in Waynoka, OK the 29th and 30th. I also have a slightly modded Blaster and was wondering if it'd do better. I would figure the scrambler would be a better choice cuz it makes more hp.
I heard a scrambler 500 would beat a 400ex in sand cuz of 4wd and the hp advantage. Is this true?

Anyway i just want to hear some opinions and stories of ur 500 in the sand. LAter
Anyway

we just returned from lil sahara. had about 12 500 scramblers. they're the only way to fly, you won't even need the 4x4. have fun, we did.

We'll probably be in Little Sahara for snake hunt weekend too! I seriously doubt you will be able to outrun the much lighter 400EX, the more sand you are pushing due to weight, the more HP you are going to lose in the sand. From what I have seen, the Polaris 500 actually has a little less HP than a stock 400EX too. Last time out there, the Polaris's were definately not the fastest machines up the hills although they were doing ok.

Good luck to ya, maybe you'll find an '00 EX owner that hasn't adjusted his throttle yet, you could probably easily smoke them.
