Default oil for predator

Hey guys, just wondering what kind of oil everyone is using. It recommends the polaris ps4 oil but, my dealer got filters in, no oil though. Just curious what other brands of oil I could use. Thanks to all who respond.

I run the amsoil for the wet clutch motorcycle 10-40. I run amsoil in all my toys. My dealer just got the filters in, now I can get back to the sand dunes before there is a ton of snow.

The PS4 oil right from the bottle says,

Performance Synthetic 4-Cycle

Full synthetic engine oil designed specifically for all manual shifting performance ATV's.
Provides postive shift characteristics while extending gear and wet clutch life.
PS4 delivers ultimate performance under extreme conditions.

Run what you got!

Along with an ample supply of filters (which they ordered early, thanks guys) my dealer just received a shipment of the PS4 oil, all is well

The Predator oil filter is the same as Honda oil filters. I'll eat one if I'm wrong!
The owners manual says your suppose to replace the o-ring when you change the oil also. Just becareful with it and keep an eye on it for leaks.

My dealer just got the ps4 in today. Pleasure4qt are you talking about the gasket on the oil filter cover, because i changed my oil and it seems like mine is leaking a little. Looks like its leaking around the drain bolts too. Not sure, I wiped off excess oil then rode awhile and the drain bolts and cover were a little wet. Cleaned it up I'll try again later. Maybe get new ones to be safe though. Later

None of my dealers could get oil, had to order filters from AZ. I'm using Motul 100% synthetic 10w-40 for four cycle engines w/ a wet clutch, $12.95 per quart. Recommended by my dealer over the PS-4, thought he sais that 'cuz he couldn't get PS-4 but I called several places and they all recommended Motul.

I've got the oil, but my dealer had no filter. So, I have a leftover 400ex filter and I'll post later today if it is the same!

Changed the oil today after the recommended one hour of run time. I actually had closer to two hours but thats the way it goes...

Observations.

There was a considerable amount of shavings and crap on the crankcase magnetic plug, no wonder the one hour rule!

Original oil was a yellow color. The PS-4 refill is green.

Honda 400ex oil filter is an exact match to the Polaris filter. Mine now has a Genuine Honda filter!

I use Mobil 1, 20-50 synthetic (Red Cap) in all my ATVs. It offers superior protection and it does not have the friction enhancers that may cause your clutch slip. It is cheep, around $3.50 to $4.00 at Walmart, and it’s also readily available, I don’t have to order it.
